Sir I had one doubt regarding no of stocks which you suggested. Will 30-40 stocks be not too much of diversification? Isn't it better to hold a little concentrated bet of 20-25 stocks

Sir I had one doubt regarding no of stocks that you suggested. Wouldn't 30-40 stocks reduce the impact of any multibagger to our portfolio and end up giving us results similar to market. Hence Isn't it better to hold a little concentrated portfolio of 20-25 stocks. Seeking your views on this.

i think of it the opposite way - i am more likely to find a multibagger if i own 40 stocks than if i own 20 stocks. Ofcourse the argument can be extended to why not own 100 stocks and increase the probability further which is also legitimate and many small cap funds do that and still do very well.

Sir i have doubt, you mentioned buying into institutional quality midcap type companies to ride the bull market, but all the retail investors focus is on microcap, sme companies, is it the right thing to do?

Prabhakar Kudva's avatar

While more gains are to be had in the smaller names, you can allocate more to the institutional quality and make more absolute amount of money.
