The earnings season is firmly underway and its turning out to be a decent one. Although there aren’t too many blockbuster earnings so far, there are a few notable companies which have come out with great numbers.
A quick review:
Tyres - MRF came out with good numbers led by margin expansion. This was due last quarter but seems to be playing out now. With crude in a correction now this margin expansion is likely to continue. Other tyre stocks are also likely to post good numbers going by this trend.
Syngene came out with all time high numbers after a while - a combination of many factors which have been in the works since a few years. This is setting the stage for the capex to play out over the next few years.
Mahindra CIE reported a good set. Once Mahindra’s fully exit the business and CIE takes over there can be some re-rating.
Glenmark Life Sciences which is a spin-off from Glenmark pharma reported a good set. The price action was already suggesting a good numbers. This is a great example of how markets move ahead of results - called it market intelligence or insider info as you will.
Some small caps which came out with a good set:
Eimco Elecon
Datamatics
Birla Cable
Over the next few posts i will look at how to read results and charts in tandem which should help you make more sense of how markets operate.

Simple, crisp and easy read.
Went through your stoic talks podcast and found this concept of earnings catalyst very interesting. Can you please guide on how to enter and scale up the position after the earnings are out
